Billy Neethling
Billy matriculated from Beachwood Boys' High School in Durban North, in 1980, and then spent two years in the
army, completing his national service.
In 1984, Billy qualified as a survey draughtsman through Wits Technicon, but, in 1985 he took up a position with
Santam Insurance Company, and thus began his career in the Insurance Industry.
In 1986, Billy entered the broking world, joining Bancura (now ABSA Brokers,) where he became a Commercial
Broker, completing his Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance, and receiving independent certification for Executive
Selling Skills. He went on to join Santam, Pinetown Branch, in 1989, and then transferred to Durban, where he was
responsible for a highly successful Marketing team.
In 1995, Billy took up a position with CC&A Insurance Brokers, and three years later became a Director of the
Company. Billy joined Holburn in September 2007, to become a Shareholder and Director of the Company, and
brought with him significant computer knowledge and experience, keeping Holburn at the forefront of service
delivery.
George Parker (B Comm, FIISA)
George completed his education at Amanzimtoti High School in 1985, and went on to read a Bachelor of Commerce
degree at the University of Natal. After graduating, George spent two years doing his National Service.
He started his working career at Santam, as a graduate trainee, and was "fast-tracked" through the Accounts,
Underwriting and Claims departments, and in 1992 he joined General Accident as an Underwriter. He remained with
this company until 1995. By this time, George was an Account Executive, and an Associate of the Insurance Institute
of South Africa.
From 1995, George was employed by CC&A Insurance Brokers, as a commercial Broker, and, in 1998, he became a
Director of the Company. During this period, George completed his Fellowship Examination for the Insurance
Institute of South Africa.
George joined Holburn in September 2007, to become both a Shareholder and Director in the Company, and is a
Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa.
Myles White
Myles matriculated from Northlands Boys High in 1979, and initially worked at Standard Bank, prior to obtaining
his Teaching Diploma from Edgewood College of Education in 1987. After 4 years of teaching science, Myles
entered the Long Term Insurance field, and spent the next 4 years at Liberty Life, acquiring his skills. Thereafter,
he joined Absa to become part of the insurance broking fraternity.
Myles subsequently moved across to CC&A Long Term Insurance and Financial Planning division, where he
became Co-owner and Member of this entity. After 15 years of service, he joined Holburn in May 2012, as a
Director, where he currently manages the Long Term and Investment operations.
Myles enjoys fishing and yachting, and has achieved both Provincial and National honours in the latter. Although
no longer teaching science, Myles maintains a regimented and structured approach to his work, and brings with
him a wealth of experience in the Long Term and Financial Planning fields. His arrival at Holburn now brings
about a holistic offering of services, advice, and products, and creates a composite brokerage. This can only prove
beneficial to our clients.
